Gunfight Between APC Members at Party Secretariat in Ekiti state.
There was pandemonium on Thursday as warring members of the APC engaged each other in a gunfight at the party's secretariat in Akure, Ekiti state.
According to a report from The Nation, the fight was between men loyal to Ekiti APC Chairman, Isaac Kekemeke, and some aggrieved members.
Reports say the secretariat had been seized by the aggrieved members, who locked it down and appointed new leaders.
It was reclaimed from the members who called themselves “Movement against Imposition” by the Kekemeke faction on Wednesday. The secretariat was also opened on the same day.
Things however turned bad on Thursday as those loyal to the party chairman allegedly exchanged gunshots with the aggrieved members, who came back reinforced.
Normalcy was restored after the Deputy Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun, led his men, to the scene.
