The president of Slovenia’s Football Association, Aleksander Ceferin has been elected as the new UEFA president after he defeated Dutchman Michael van Praag at UEFA’s congress in

Athens on Wednesday September 14.

The 48-year-old father of three polled 42 votes as opposed to van Praag’s 13 votes.He will take over from former France legend Michel Platini, who resigned after being banned from all football activity in 2015.
